Oakanagan Lake: This beautiful lake is lined with white sandy beaches and is considered one of the best places to go boating in BC. Enjoy some of Kelowna’s beautiful, sunny summer weather while jet skiing or try and get a tan while enjoying the water on a stand-up paddleboard!
Shuswap Lake: Motor over to this lake for crystal clear waters and adrenaline filled activities such as para-sailing. Copper Island, which sits in the middle of the lake is a great place to moor and take a dip in the warm waters.
Wahleach Lake: Take a trip over to this lake if you’re interested in exploring fishing in British Columbia. The lake is stocked with Cutthroat Trout and maintains a steady supply of Kokanee and Rainbow Trout. Over at the BC Hydro Recreation site visitors can also find hiking trails and a boat launch.
Skaha Lake: This small lake in the quaint town of Penticton boasts warm waters and tons to do in the city. The region is undergoing a waterfront revitalization project which will expand upon their existing marinas and add in lakeside waterparks to enjoy.
Nimpo Lake: Nestled into a small alpine ranching community, this lake is far from the influence of the big city. Hop on one of the resident floatplanes and be whisked away to secluded lakes and rivers where you can enjoy the wilderness and explore the alpine forests.
Mara Lake: One of the more secluded fishing holes in British Columbia, this lake is regularly stocked with rainbow trout, lake trout, kokanee, and dolly varden. There are several campsites around the lake to enjoy as well as beautiful beaches and a boat launch.
Harrison Lake: While this lake’s glacier fed waters make it extremely cold and not ideal for swimming, the nearby Harrison Lake Hot Springs will perk up even the chilliest of travellers! Lovers of wildlife will enjoy the diversity of species that ranges from harbor seals to Canadian geese.
